PD: Man uses vehicle to kill girlfriend in Phoenix parking lot

A man has been taken into custody after allegedly running over his girlfriend in Phoenix. 

Phoenix police said the incident started on Sunday night, when the victim, 28-year-old Anjelica Moraga found her boyfriend, 26-year-old Ricardo Garcia in the parking lot of a club near Central Avenue and Broadway Road. 

According to police, an argument started and Garcia rammed into Moraga’s vehicle while two children and two adults were inside. 

Moraga was outside of her vehicle in the parking lot and Garcia ran her over with his car, police said.

Moraga was transported to an area hospital and died from her injuries. 

Garcia was located in a nearby alley after a physical confrontation with the victim's family, and officers were able to arrest him without further incident.

The suspect was booked for one count of first degree murder and four counts of aggravated assault.
