TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Police say a collision involving a motorcycle and car has turned deadly.
The collision closed northbound Alvernon Way and Grant Road Saturday night.
According to TPD, witnesses at the sight of the collision performed CPR on the motorcyclist when first responders arrived.
The motorcyclist was taken to Banner University Medical Center, where he died.
TPD say the motorcyclist was westbound on Grant Road and made a right turn on to Alvernon Way, As the motorcyclist began to travel north, he moved into the median lane. At the same time, a car driving south was making a left turn across Alvernon Way at a break in the median. The motorcycle and car collided head-on.
Police say the driver of the passenger car remained on scene and cooperated with police. Impairment and speed did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
