Deputies find couple dead in apparent murder-suicide on Northwest side

The Pima County Sheriff's Department announced the identies of the an alleged murder-suicide.

"The deceased female victim in this case has been identified as 43-year-old Gail E. Hozjan. The deceased male suspect has been identified as 64-year-old Richard M. Hozjan," officials said.

A man and his wife were found dead Tuesday morning in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies responded shortly after 10:45 a.m. to a report of suicide threats in the 4300 block of West Rae Circle, according to PCSD. A neighbor said the man left a note on her door stating he had killed his wife and planned to kill himself.

Deputies entered the man's home after failing to make contact with him or his wife. Inside, they found the man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and his wife dead in another area of the residence from an apparent gunshot wound, PCSD said.

Homicide detectives responded, and preliminary findings indicate the deaths appear to be a murder-suicide.

Pima County Sheriff's Department is investigating two deaths found on the Northwest side.

According to an email from PCSD, a man and woman were found dead inside a home in the 4300 block of West Rae Circle, near West Ina and North Oldfather.

There are currently no outstanding suspects, PCSD said.

The investigation is ongoing.
