TUCSON, Ariz. — Pima County Sheriff’s deputies identified a man who died Tuesday night in a crash northwest of town.
According to the department, 52-year-old Brian Hieb died in the crash, which happened near the intersection of La Canada Drive and Magee Road Tuesday night.
Deputies say it all started when they tried to pull a vehicle over at La Canada and River just before 10 p.m.. The driver did not stop and instead drove north on La Canada, leading deputies on a short chase.
After passing Magee, PCSD says the driver then sideswiped another vehicle before hitting a guard rail. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and died at the scene. No details were shared about the occupants in the vehicle that was sideswiped.
