The Parker Canyon Lake and Lakeview Campground has been temporarily closed due to black bear activity in the area, according to a media release from Coronado National Forest.

Several bears have been seen in the area over the last few days, raising the potential for unwanted bear-human interactions.

Authorities are working with officials from Arizona Game and Fish Department to vacate the area for public safety while the bears are trapped and removed.

The Coronado National Forest encourages campers and picnickers to always keep their recreation sites clean and free of food and trash debris to prevent attracting wildlife.

The lake and campground will be closed until the bears are relocated elsewhere on the forest.
