The Pima County Board of Supervisors have voted to rename Northwest Community Park in honor of former District 1 Supervisor Ann Day who died in a collision on May 7.

The Northwest Community Park is located at 7601 N. Mona Lisa Road.

Day represented District 1 from 2001 to 2012 and she also served in the Arizona Senate for 10 years.

The family of Day requested the county rename the Northwest Park the “Ann Day Community Park" to memorialize her commitment to public service.

Day strongly supported Pima County parks and had significant involvement with creating the Northwest Community Park. She also vigorously advocated for funding the dog park and the ramadas located at this facility. Securing funding for the covered playground equipment was one of her last actions while serving on the Board.
