TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Big dogs need love too- that is Pima Animal Care Center's theme for adoption during the month of January.
Right now, a majority of PACC's adoptable dogs are larger breeds. To encourage their adoption, PACC will waive all adoption fees on dogs weighing more than 25 pounds.
PACC says they have approximately 300-large breed dogs waiting to find their forever home. The adoption special will continue through January 31.
PACC never turns away a pet in need, and the organization has been taking in, on average, more than 50 pets a day this year so far. A little over half of these pets came to PACC as strays, while the rest were surrendered by their owners.
Adoption fees for all of PACC's cats, kittens and small dogs are $20.16 through the end of January. In addition, PACC has cats and kittens available for adoption 7 days a week at four PetSmart locations. For more information, visit www.pima.gov/animalcare.
