PACC takes in 85 pets in animal hoarding case

PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. — Pima Animal Care Center took in 85 pets from a hoarding case Friday.

PACC says there are about 67 birds and 18 smalls dogs, which are in good condition and the birds will be examined by a vet specialized in birds.

The investigation is still ongoing by the Sheriff Department’s Animal Cruelty Division.

The pets are on hold until the end of the investigation.

PACC says "There are various types of birds including macaw, cockatiels, and finches. The dogs are small breeds including Chihuahuas, dachshunds, terriers, some hairless mixes and Maltese."

PACC currently has 1,632 animals in need of homes.

PACC shelter hours are Monday through Friday, noon-7 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.
