The Yuma County Sheriff's Department is asking for help after a heartbreaking case of animal cruelty last week.
The tan, female dog, possibly a Shepherd mix, was found near Avenue 32E and Palomas Road on Thursday, March 17 around 10:40 a.m. She was suffering from two gunshot wounds.
Officials say the dog did not have a collar on at the time and no microchip was found to help identify her.
Fortunately, the dog has since undergone surgery and is in stable condition at the Humane Society of Yuma by Yuma County Animal Control.
YCSO is hoping someone will know who the dog belongs to or have more information regarding the case.
If you know anything, please contact Sgt. Scott Bjornstad at 928-783-4427 or call 78-CRIME to stay anonymous.
The Humane Society of Yuma is seeking the owners of this dog. If you think you know the owners of this dog or you are the owner please contact us as soon as possible. 928-782-1621
