TUCSON, Ariz. - The owner of an elder care home has pleaded guilty to two counts of endangerment in connection to an elderly abuse case.
In July 2018, the owner was taken to Pima County jail for endangerment and elderly abuse.
Police responded to an elder care home at 501 E. 8th Street with temperatures at 103 degrees.
The care home had been in use without air conditioning for several days.
According to officials, there were nine residents and five of them had been hospitalized. All five residents hospitalized were over the age of 60. The rest of the residents were moved to new care home facilities.
The owner, 71-year-old Cynthia Hermann, pleaded to two counts of endangerment.
The sentencing will be April 4, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.
