A severe thunderstorm produced hail up to 2.5" in diameter and greater than 6" deep in spots around Safford late Saturday evening.
According to the National Weather Service, the large hail produced extensive property damage in Safford and likely impacted crops in the area.
Some residents reported that the hail broke car windows and left other damage to their property.
