A home in the 5000 block of West Camino de Girasol was destroyed from a fire overnight, according to Capt. Brian Keeley of the Northwest Fire District.
Northwest Fire received calls from neighbors of heavy smoke and flames coming from a house around 4 a.m. this morning.
The first responding unit found the single-story home fully involved with fire. The roof of the house had collapsed from fire damage but the block walls of the home were still intact.
When crews arrived there were no residents outside the home.
It took 22 firefighters about 40 minutes to contain the fire. After the fire was extinguished, crews found that the home was vacant with the exception of a few items.
Investigators are on scene and still working to determine the cause of the fire. There is no estimate on damages but the damage is significant.
