One man is in the hospital after a shooting in midtown Saturday night.
Tucson police say it happened just before 5:00 p.m. in an alley just north of Santa Rita Avenue and Grant Road. However, an officer on-scene tells us the shooting possibly happened near Fort Lowell Road and Fontana Avenue.
When officers got there, they saw the man inside of a red Chrysler Sebring 4-door car. Sgt. Kimberly Bay says he had obvious gunshot wounds. The victim was in the back passenger seat, the driver of the car ran away and has not been located, an officer on-scene said.
The victim is now at a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives believe the shooting happened in a different location and that other people were involved. They are asking anyone with information or any witnesses who saw something out of the ordinary in the area to call 911 or 88-crime to stay anonymous.
