Tucson police identified a driver who died after a Thursday morning crash.
Nola Rene Simonsen, 41, died after the 7:30 a.m. wreck near the 9200 block of East Old Vail Road. Simonsen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Simonsen drove a 2018 Ford Escape and got into a wreck with a semi-tractor trailer.
According to witnesses, Simonsen was driving eastbound on Old Vail Road when she hit a 2017 Peterbilt semi-truck and trailer, which was backing into a business at 9290 E. Old Vail Road.
The Escape was partially stuck under the trailer. The driver of the truck was not impaired. No citations or charges have been issued.
