UPDATE (4:23 p.m.): According to DPS, the crash that took place overnight was the result of a criminal speeding pursuit.
The suspect vehicle hit a bicyclist, who died, and a pedestrian, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was taken to the hospital.

Early Tuesday morning, an Arizona Department of Public Safety Trooper was involved in a shooting. AZPDS says the shooting occurred at the intersection of I-10 and Speedway Boulevard around 12:32 Tuesday morning.
The off-ramps and intersection will remain closed in order to complete the investigation, says AZDPS. As of 6:49 a.m. there is no word on when the intersection will reopen.

At least one person is dead following a DPS trooper-involved shooting near Speedway and Interstate 10.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the shooting happened at 12:32 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27.
The DPS says the entire situation started as a pursuit for criminal speeding.
A sergeant for DPS says the suspect vehicle hit a bicyclist and pedestrian.
The bicyclist was killed and the pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injuries.
DPS says the suspect was taken to the hospital, but the extent of that individual’s injuries have not been disclosed.
