Northwest Fire responded to a swift water rescue early Sunday morning.

According to Brian Keeley with NW Fire, a call came in at 3:45 a.m. reporting a car that had been washed from the roadway on Ina near Camino de los Caballeros.

Units arrived on the scene to find a man in his twenties sitting on top of his vehicle which had been swept 20 feet downstream from the road.

The water was receding by the time crews arrived, which allowed them to assist the man to safety. He had no injuries.

NW Fire says that no barricades were in place when the driver entered the roadway.

This incident serves as another reminder to use great caution while driving following heavy rains.
