Crews from the Northwest Fire District responded to a mobile home fire in the 5500 block of North Shannon on Friday night.

NW Fire received multiple 9-1-1 calls just after 11 p.m. reporting a porch fire involving a motorcycle, according to Trina Motto, a spokesperson for the Northwest Fire District.

Motto said a man and woman were home at the time of the fire and evacuated the home safely. The two attempted to use a garden hose to extinguish the fire.

Crews arrived on scene within six minutes and pulled hose lines to extinguish the fire. They determined that the fire did not extend into the interior of the home.

No injuries were reported to the residents or the 21 firefighters who responded to the fire

Motto said the porch, a motorcycle, and the mobile home's exterior sustained significant damage from the fire.

Investigators are on scene working to determine the origin and cause of the fire.

Motto said Northwest Fire's Community Assistance Team are also on scene to help the residents due to extensive smoke damage within the home.
