TUCSON, Ariz. — A new post-acute healthcare center is expected to open on the Northwest Medical campus in 2021.
The care center will feature a 30-bed sub-acute nursing facility and a 30-bed acute care inpatient rehabilitation facility.
"The SNF/IRF combination will allow us to better manage high-risk patients who are leaving the hospital but are not yet ready to go home. Integrating this type of care into our system allows us to focus on all aspects of medical care that our patients require—not just what happens in the hospital, but how they recover once they leave," Northwest Healthcare Regional President Kevin Stockton said.
The building will be adjacent to the hospital at Gateway Medical Plaza.
"Our goal with expanding the continuum of care we offer is that it may ultimately improve the outcomes for our patients,” Stockton said.
