MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Four women and their pets have been displaced after their house caught on fire earlier this morning, according to Northwest Fire Department.
The house is in Marana near Sandario and Moore road.
According to Northwest Fire Captain Adam Goldberg several pets are still unaccounted for at this time.
The people in the house heard a loud boom and got out of the house when the alarm went off.
Firefighters were fortunate to have a fire hydrant within 300 feet of the house. The neighborhood was one that had fire hydrants placed into service as part of a grant program.
The four women are ages 87, 68, 66 and 16 and they have lost their house and all of their belongings, according to Goldberg.
The official cause of the fire is undetermined due to the limited access, however, investigators did find a portable electric space heater that they think could be a potential cause.
