Northwest Fire battled a house fire in the 3600 block of West Hills of Gold Drive around 8:20 Friday night.
The homeowner was able to evacuate safely and was not injured.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire burning in a structure in the backyard that had spread to a large room in the home and the attic space.
It took 22 firefighters about 25 minutes to extinguish the fire.
Crews are still looking for animals that were reported in the home by the owner.
The cause is under investigation.
