TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) The University of Arizona's new president may make $988,000 per year in a compensation package.
New information has been released on the Arizona Board of Regents website, and the board will vote on Dr. Robert C. Robbins' contract this Friday. Robbins' three-year contract includes the following:
- An annual salary of $600,000.
- An annual housing allowance of $70,000.
- An annual car allowance of $10,000.
- Appointment to Endowed Presidential Leadership Chair for $200,000 per year. That money comes from private funds through the University of Arizona Foundation in the amount of $200,000 per year.
Other benefits include moving expenses, medical benefits and retirement options.
The contract would go into effect on June 1.
Last month Robbins confirmed to KGUN9 that he makes more than $1 million at his current job, and would be shocked if he doesn't take a pay cut for his position at the U of A. According to U of A officials, President Ann Weaver Hart has a salary package of about $660,000 per year.
