A new charter school with a famous name is soon to open its doors in Sierra Vista.

The Leman Academy of Excellence celebrated its ribbon cutting Saturday.

It was a fun-filled day for children as the school hosted a fair that included a petting zoo.

The head of schools, Dennis O'Reilly, says this campus will offer a classical education.

"All Mom's want to know that they're sending their child, son or daughter, to a school where the school cares about them, where they'll partner with them, where the education is such that they feel comfortable with what's being offered" O'Reilly told KGUN9. "Ours is a classical educational model, which for me, its the best out there."

The Sierra Vista campus will serve students from Kindergarten through 6th grade.

O'Reilly says 250 students are enrolled at the Sierra Vista location with more coming in everyday.

The goal is to serve more than 400 students.
