There are a few murals near the west side of town that were revamped Saturday.
The El Rio neighborhood center hosted an event to celebrate the restoration of three of five murals that have been there since 1970.
Patrick McKenna with Barrio Hollywood Neighborhood says "Local artists from the community here, so they restored these historic murals and this is basically a rededication of these murals that mean so much about the history in this neightborhood."
The artists include David Tineo and Alfonso Chavez who worked with local youth this summer to bring those murals to life.
