A three-vehicle collision around 12:30 p.m. today closed westbound Interstate 10 at Marana Road until around 9 p.m.

According to a media release from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a commercial vehicle carrying a load of produce collided with the back of an SUV being towed by a pickup truck headed eastbound on I-10.

The collision disconnected the SUV from the pickup and the SUV ran into the median and rolled over, while the pickup ran off the road to the right and rolled over.

The commercial vehicle ran through the median and into the westbound lanes of I-10 after the collision. It then hit a second commercial vehicle carrying machinery that was headed westbound.

According to a DPS media release, the driver of the first commercial vehicle was taken from the scene to receive treatment for injuries.

The driver of the second commercial vehicle died on scene.

The driver of the pickup truck towing the SUV was uninjured.

I-10 eastbound lanes have been reopened.
