PHOENIX (AP) - An early morning apartment fire in north Phoenix has resulted in the death of several pets, including a lizard and an iguana.
The Phoenix Fire Department says crews responded to a 911 call around 1:30 a.m. to a fire at 13th Place near Cave Creek Road.
Capt. Aaron Ernsberger says the fire was coming from a unit in a duplex-style apartment building.
No residents were hurt.
But a dog, cat, two fish, a bearded dragon lizard and an iguana did not survive.
Ernsberger says three other dogs made it out of the fire.
The residents were displaced and have found friends and family to stay with.
Ernsberger says the cause is still under investigation.
