Man dies from injuries in eastside blaze

TUCSON, Ariz. - A man who was injured in a Wednesday morning fire died.

Tucson police Sgt. Pete Dugan said a man in his 60s died after firefighters transported him to the hospital from a burning abandoned structure.

According to Tucson Fire spokesman Barrett Baker, the call came in during the 5 a.m. hour near Apple Apartments, in the 4800 block of East 29th Street.

The cause is under investigation. The TPD arson unit is investigating the scene.
