This time last year, there was already snow on Mount Lemmon. But don't lose hope, there could be a chance for snowfall this weekend.

"I am actually surprised that there is not any snow at all," said Melissa Robles, a University of Arizona student.

Last year the first snow fall was at the end of November, but on Mt. Lemmon there are cooler temperatures and still no snow.

At Ski Valley the lack of snow doesn't stop people from riding the lift to enjoy the views.

Graham Davies owns Ski Valley. Davies says last year a storm knocked trees down damaging a lift but now they are ready for this winter.

"We just go through all the equipment," he said. "There is a lot of maintenance and stuff that has to be completed and we are actually still cleaning up from the windstorm from last January where we had a bunch of trees blow down so we just finished that up."

He says skiing will open when there is about a foot to a foot-and-a-half of snow.
