TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Police Department is investigating a deadly crash involving a motorcycle near midtown on December 4.
Police say officers were called to the area of North Castro Avenue and West Laguna Street around 5:30 p.m. about a report of a serious injury crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle.
Upon arrival Tucson Fire rendered aid to the motorcyclist.
TFD took the motorcyclist to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Police identified the motorcyclist as 52-year-old Dale Foxworthy.
Detectives determined that Foxworthy was traveling southbound on North Castro and attempted to make a westbound turn on West Laguna.
Police say while Foxworthy was was turning they were hit by an SUV.
Police say the SUV failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection.
The driver of the SUV did stay on scene, where officers determined the driver was under the influence at the time of the crash.
Police identified the driver of the SUV as 38-year-old Mickey Antonio.
Antonio was arrested and booked into Pima County Jail on felony aggravated assault charges.
On December 7, police were told that Foxworthy had died from his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
