A 33-year-old motorcyclist has died from injuries sustained after striking a construction vehicle.

On September 22, officers responded to a serious injury collision involving a motorcycle rider and construction vehicle on N. 11th Ave. and W. Lee St.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located a motorcycle rider with obvious signs of injury. He was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

On September 25, Jason Aaron Bake was pronounced deceased.

Detectives were able to determine Bake was traveling northbound on 11th Ave., approaching W. Lee St. when he failed to yield at a posted yield sign and collided with the front bucket of a construction front loader.

Bake was not wearing a helmet and speed appears to be a factor in the collision.

Detectives also learned the motorcycle had been reported stolen in September.

According to police, there have been nine motorcycle deaths this year.
