More startups will soon be coming to Tucson from Mexico. Tucson leaders and Mexico's Former President are working to create businesses operating in both Mexico and the U.S. with Tucson as the entry point for Mexican business in America.

This all starts with education: the plan will create more college options for students in both Tucson and Mexico. Fox wants to work with Pima Community College to replicate their two year program in Mexico because they don't have community colleges there.

Startup Tucson says boosting education in Mexico and offering mentors through this partnership will then funnel those students to start their companies here in Tucson.

"When you look at Mexico, it's one of the fastest growing economies in the world," said Justin Williams, CEO of Startup Tucson. "Mexico city has a huge talent pool and a huge cultural revolution going on in their own country, and being able to be a border community that has a strategic partnership...that's a five and ten year forward-looking strategy that our community should prioritize," said Williams.

Startup Tucson says the focus will be on lifestyle, tech and defense companies. Another long term goal includes building our talent pool to recruit big companies like Tesla to come to Tucson and invest in our city to create even more jobs and money in our economy.
