Northwest Fire says three males were living the home and one of them was transported to the hospital. The fire is still under investigation.
The American Red Cross Southern Arizona Chapter responded to assist the displaced residents. Mike Sagara, the organization's public information officer, said the Red Cross provides financial, emotional, and medical assistance.
"What we try to do is we try to make sure that they have a safe place to stay while they're displaced and then we'll look at having our caseworkers work with the people to find other resources that they can use in the community as well too," Sagara said.
A neighboring home also sustained fire damage. Northwest Fire says the family living there was also displaced and was assisted by its Community Assistance Team.
Kustom U.S. Restoration was on scene after first responders left. The company helps out with the aftermath of disasters.
Alfonso Gutierrez, with Kustom U.S., said his team boarded the neighboring home affected by the fire.
"We keep it boarded up completely up until it's safe for them to enter. We'll take it down. We'll handle that part because we don't want to put anybody inside, because with fire there's smoke damage. There's a lot of things that are harmful when it comes to the fire. It's not just the smoke itself," Gutierrez said. "When plastics get hot, they start emitting a lot of toxins, so it's the plastics, it's other things in the home that let off odors that are very harmful for the lungs."
Gutierrez said his team also searches through destroyed homes for sentimental belongings once a structure is deemed safe.
"My team will go in there, they'll pick that out for the homeowners so it's safer for them. We'll restore it if we can. Itemize it for them that way they stay safe. We handle all the busy, all the dirty, grimy stuff for them, and then just take it one step at a time," Gutierrez said.
He says they work with the Northwest Fire District.
"So they'll refer us, but ultimately it's up to the homeowner if they wanna choose us or not," Gutierrez said.
The Red Cross is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sagara said a team is always ready to respond and works with families for as long as they need assistance.
"We'll give them some hope and answers to other solutions in the community because we want to make sure that they're taken care of," Sagara said.
He says if you would like to help people in need, the Red Cross is always in need of volunteers and blood donations.
"We're always needing blood, especially during the summer months when families go away on vacation, schools are out. We get about 20% of our blood supply from high school students and college students, and they take off during the summer with their families and they go on vacation. They're just not around, so our blood supply goes down," Sagura said.
According to Sagura, the Red Cross Southern Arizona Chapter assisted with 167 home fires in seven counties from July 2025 to June 30, 2026.

A mobile home fire has closed West Curtis Road between North Carapan Avenue and North Davis Avenue on the north side, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
According to Northwest Fire, one patient was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
Drivers have been asked to find an alternate route.
