University of Arizona students returned to classrooms Monday, and business is already perking up near campus.
After the usually slow summer, shops along University Boulevard are seeing much more foot traffic, and restaurants are happy to see a fresh influx of hungry students.
"Oh my gosh we have five times as much stuff as we usually need," said Cami Quast of Jimmy's Pita and Poke. "The back of the kitchen looks like a small factory. We just try to get everything prepared and as much backup as we can to handle them when they come in."
A lot of UA businesses look forward to returning students as more than customers.
Many of them depend on students as staff to help their businesses run.
