TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - If you are thinking about buying a home, you're about to get some help from the Mayor of Tucson.

Jonathan Rothschild gathered together many of Tucson's big players in the housing market as he launched a new program called "Pathways to Purchase."

At a time when less than half of Tucson housing units are occupied by owners, the mayor says it's important to help people achieve the American dream.

"Home ownership stabilizes neighborhoods, helps families build financial security. It even has been shown to increase graduation rates perhaps by improving residential stability."

The mayor says "Pathways to Purchase" will focus on middle income, low income and even very low income families.
