The Nogales Police Department and Homeland Security apprehended an 18-year-old man after marijuana was discovered in his vehicle.
Roberto C. Fierros, Public Information Officer with the Nogales Police Department, says officers responded to the Loma Linda Plaza located in the 300 block of West Mariposa Road.
Officers were conducting a traffic stop of a beige-colored Buick station wagon on Mastick Way near the Mariposa Clinic.
The driver bailed out of the vehicle and led officers on a brief foot chase towards the Fast Trip Convenience Store, said Fierros. The man was taken into custody without incident.
The vehicle had more than 600 pounds of marijuana.
