The Tucson International Mariachi Conference goes into full swing this weekend.
The festival, which started in 1983, has been at Casino del Sol for the past six years.
Mariachi Sol de Mexico with Jose Hernandez headlines tonight's Espectacular Concert. Marisa Ronstadt Mendoza and Pepe Martinez Junior with Mariachi Angeles will also perform.
More than 1,000 students will participate in the conference.
The event benefits La Frontera's children's services.
KGUN9 Chief Meteorologist Erin Christiansen will be live at the conference at 5 and 6 p.m. Friday.
