Members of the Marana Police Department attended the funeral of Corporal Montrell Jackson Monday.
Jackson was killed in the line of duty on July 17 on Airline Highway when a gunman opened fire.
Officer Matthew Gerald and Deputy Brad Garafola were also killed in the incident.
Marana Police wrote the following on their Facebook page:
"Came with a heavy heart but left with HOPE and LOVE as we celebrated the life of Corporal Montrell Jackson. Corporal Jackson posted a comment on FB shortly before his death that stated:
'Please don't let hate infect your heart, THIS CITY MUST AND WILL GET BETTER.'
What a great message for America. Things are going to get better!"
