Marana Police vehicles have a new look on the road.

The first of the 18 new, silver Chevy Tahoes are helping officers on patrol. Marana Police Chief Terry Rozema and the Town of Marana Graphic Designer Ramon Armenta are behind the new color scheme and design package.

“We tried to give the vehicles a very clean, modern look that fits well with the brand we have created for the Town,” said Armenta.

Chief Rozema presented vehicle designs he liked to serve as inspiration and picked his favorite of Armenta's designs to make final adjustments. The final result had emphasis on the town's name "Marana," which is in a larger text than previous designs.

The new vehicles will be silver instead of the previous black and white design because it is less expensive. The Department's motto "Unparalledled Service, Unwavering Protection" and the department's badge will continue to be featured on the side.

The new SUVs have new equipment that feature emergency lights, prisoner screens, communication laptops, prisoner seats, police consoles, storage boxes, emergency first aid equipment, blood borne pathogen kits and more.

Only new vehicles will have the new design and none of the existing patrol units will be repainted. By the end of the year all 18 new vehicles will be added to patrol, in most cases replacing older units that will be removed from use.
