MARANA, Ariz. — The town of Marana is developing their next master plan for the ten-year development of Parks and Recreation, and they want the communities input.

Every ten years, the parks and recreation department sees the growth, diversity and trends in the community to find out what everyone wants to be added or taken away from their facilities.

The Director of Parks and Recreation in Marana Jim Conroy said the town of Marana is one of the fastest growing community in the state, and with this growth, the population becomes more diverse, changing the need of the community.

"It's our responsibility to find spaces that people can not only exercise, but also to find peace. Find an area that they can relax and enjoy facilities, and a quality park can provide that," Conroy said.

Conroy said the community can add anything from more dog parks to more guided hiking tour and cycling routes, it just depends on the feedback they receive from the community.

The hope is to have a plan developed by June of 2020. To weigh in, complete their survey here.
