Nogales Police received a call about a man who had washed up onto the bank of the Nogales wash around 4:15 p.m. on July 19.
The man did not have an ID on him and was fading in and out of consciousness but he was able to provide police with a name and a birthday.
He identified himself as 44-year-old Ruben Estrella. According to Nogales Police spokesman Robert Fierros the man is a Mexican national and was likely coming through the wash from Mexico.
Nogales Police are releasing the man's name with the hope that his family will see and be able to make contact with him.
He was airlifted to a Tucson hospital because of water ingestion and other injuries.
