A man wanted by authorities in Arizona for aggravated assault with a firearm and parole violations has been arrested in Oklahoma.

U.S. Marshals Service officials announced Friday that 31-year-old Joey Mata was taken into custody in Enid, Oklahoma.

Mata was wanted by the Coolidge Police Department for aggravated assault with a firearm, the Arizona Department of Corrections for violating conditions of his parole and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for introducing prison contraband.

Authorities say Mata was involved in a shooting earlier this month in Coolidge and fled the scene in a stolen vehicle that was later recovered.

Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers in Oklahoma were able to identify Mata at an apartment complex in Enid and he was arrested after a brief vehicle pursuit.
