MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Marana Police officer's takedown that was caught on camera has sparked a lawsuit from the man who was struck.
Officer Michael Rapiejko rammed his cruiser into Mario Valencia. He was armed and refused to surrender.
Valencia says he is suing because he's still in pain after being hit by Officer Rapiejko's cruiser.
He is looking to collect $850,000 thousand dollars from the lawsuit.
Valencia is still in jail awaiting trial.
Officer Rapiejko has since resigned from the Marana Police Department.
The Marana Police Department has vowed to fight the lawsuit.
