A man was arrested Sunday after he called the Cochise County Sheriff's Office to report that he was being kidnapped at gunpoint.

During the call, he gave deputies basic details about the vehicle he was in. Deputies pinpointed the location of the call near Willcox and found a vehicle that matched the description at a gas station.

The vehicle took off on westbound I-10 and law enforcement followed.

Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers and CCSO got a license plate number and found that it had previously been stolen.

The suspect vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the Loves' Truck Stop on I-10 and State Highway 90.

Undercover DPS troopers and marked CCSO deputies surrounded the vehicle and took the driver, who was the only person in the car, into custody.

The man was identified as 34-year-old Brandon Williams.

Officials say Williams stole his mother's car and called the sheriff's office for an unknown reason.

Williams was booked into the Cochise County Jail on charges of motor vehicle theft, felony flight from law enforcement officers, and endangerment.
