PHOENIX (AP) - Police say a man was shot and killed while celebrating his birthday at a Phoenix nightclub.
Authorities say the shooting happened early Sunday and left 26-year-old Deshawn McDonald dead.
According to investigators, McDonald was with friends at a strip club in the area of I-17 and McDowell Road.
The victim went outside and witnesses heard shots in the parking lot.
Lt. Paul Taylor says patrons located McDonald's body in some landscaping in front of a nearby hotel.
He was pronounced dead.
Taylor says police have no information about a possible suspect and that detectives are still on the scene.
Family members and friends say McDonald was an aspiring rapper.
