Man sentenced to 33 months in prison for tax evasion

TUCSON, Ariz. — A former Tucson resident was sentenced to 33 months in prison for tax evasion.

Van Raymond Brollini, 71, owed about $310,000 in federal taxes. He was ordered to pay $510,937.68 in restitution and $6,000 in prosecution costs.

A federal jury found Brollini guilty of tax evasion, corrupt interference with tax administration and failure to file a tax return. He evaded tax payments from 2002 to 2004 and failed to file tax returns from 2006 through 2009.
