This time of the year local shelters are swamped with lost cats and dogs who get scared during monsoonal storms and fireworks.
Thomas Ferguson's dog "Bozo" ran away last week.
Ferguson tells KGUN9 that his 13-year-old Terrier ran away last week.
Bozo got nervous during a storm and managed to break through a fence in the backyard.
Ferguson wants to remind people to take extra care of their dogs.
"He knows how to please me," Ferguson told KGUN9. " If he wants go to more on a walk, and I can't because of my sciatica.. He just gives me a little look and he comes to the car... Cause he knows how to please me he knows how to take care of me."
Ferguson lives near Tanque Verde and Udall Park.
Bozo does have a microchip and Ferguson has checked the local shelters.
