Police in Phoenix say a man is dead after a scuffle in a parking lot.
They say the unidentified 33-year-old victim confronted his girlfriend and her male friend outside a supermarket around 8 p.m. Saturday.
The man reportedly began to yell at the two, who were sitting inside a vehicle.
Police say the victim grabbed the steering wheel of their car, attempted to jump into the vehicle through the driver's side window.
The victim then reportedly began assaulting the 32-year-old man and the woman.
Police say the suspect had a gun and threatened to shoot if the victim didn't stop the assault.
The victim refused and police say at some point, the suspect's gun discharged.
Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene and their investigation is ongoing
