A 27-year-old man was dragged 15 feet by a tractor after the chain snagged onto his leg southwest of Bisbee this afternoon.
According to a media release from the Cochise County Sheriff's Office, the man appeared to be an illegal immigrant who was hiding in the brush when the accident happened at the intersection of Wilson Rd. and Willow Way.
The operator of the Cochise County Road Department tractor did not notice a man was being dragged by the tractor at first but stopped the machine immediately after becoming aware, according to CCSO.
Medical personnel who attended to the injured man said he appeared to have a broken leg as a result of the incident. The man was later taken to a Tucson hospital for treatment.
Bisbee police and CCSO are investigating the incident.
