TUCSON, Ariz. — The Tucson Police Department has identified a man whose death has been ruled a homicide.

TPD says officers responded to a home in the 3100 block of East Edward Avenue on Sunday because of reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found 40-year-old Thomas W. Ortenzi in the front of the home with signs of gunshot wounds. He was taken to Banner University Medical Center where he later died.

Upon further investigation, detectives learned that Ortenzi had been working on a vehicle outside his home. Neighbors heard a single gunshot, followed by a car speeding off.

Detectives are following up leads in the case, but anyone with information should call 88-CRIME.
