TUCSON, Ariz. - A man was convicted of sex crimes against sleeping women.
According to the Pima County Attorney's Office, Reynaldo Rios sexually assaulted sleeping women who had fallen asleep after drinking at parties.
In August 2016, Rios was at a family gathering when a woman asleep on the couch after drinking woke up twice to Rios trying to pull off her covers, then again when he tried to pull off her pants. She pushed him and told him no, but Rios raped her on the couch.
In November 2017, a woman who had been drinking woke up to find Rios on top of her, trying to unbutton her pants. She screamed and told him to leave, but he wouldn't move. She pushed him away and escaped the room.
Last week, Rios was convicted of sexual assault and attempted sexual abuse.
He will be sentenced May 22.
