PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police have arrested a man in connection with the killing of his friend.
Police spokesman Jonathan Howard says 22-year-old Matthew Meiner was taken into custody without incident Wednesday morning on one count each of murder, theft of means of transportation and possession of stolen property.
According to Howard, Meiner is accused of killing 21-year-old Matthew McLean with an edged instrument inside a home at 10th and Taylor streets last week.
Police say Meiner also took off with McLean's Audi hatchback and other property.
Howard says the two men were longtime friends and investigators are still trying to figure out a motive.
The vehicle, which has California license plates, remains missing.
It was not immediately known Thursday if Meiner had an attorney.
